Tom Malone Glass Art Prize 2025
Billy Crellin’s sculptural glass work Speculative Future was selected as a finalist in the Tom Malone Glass Art Prize, exhibited at Linton & Kay Galleries Cottesloe. Presented during Perth Design Week and alongside Sculpture by the Sea, the exhibition highlights leading artists working in contemporary glass.
In Speculative Future, Crellin reflects on glass as a material caught between past and future. Historically used to imitate precious stones, glass has continually shifted in cultural meaning. Through dense colour and sculptural form, the work speculates on how materials carry knowledge, craft traditions, and evolving values across time—inviting viewers to consider what the future of glass might hold
